Starting with blank paper, I draw a grid over both paper and reference photo.

From there, in pencil, I sketch a basic outline and simple features.

The first color I add is always to the eyes, and the rest is done from there.

​

Filling in the rest of a drawing I am rather sporadic, but it all gets done and the finished product is always worth it!
